Perhaps you enjoy hiking or running on the endless trails along the coastline or deep into the redwoods?
Will your favorite state park even be open next year?
If you spend any time in California State Parks, you have cause for concern as many are threatened by potential closures due to California state budget issues.
Heath Hen Films has captured the California state park crisis in their documentary appropriately named The First 70. 70 California state parks have been identified for closure. The closure of these parks should be of great concern to anyone who is an outdoor enthusiast.

Screening begins at 6:00pm sharp, but we encourage you to arrive early to enjoy snacks and refreshments and learn how you can help with the organizations in attendance proactively working to save the parks.

Numerous fundraising opportunities will be available and raffle prizes including some of you favorite outdoor gear will be on hand. Let's save some parks and get out there and enjoy them! A portion of the proceeds will benefit the California State Parks Foundation and Olmsted Park Fund.

Once you have joined us for the film we invite you to join us on a moonlight hike through Mt. Tamalpais beginning at 7:30pm Saturday, May 5th.
Everyone must arrive at Pantoll Station by 7:15pm SHARP not to be left behind. This is a strict timeline as I have personally been left behind for this hike before. Parking is very limited so we will be carpooling from Sports Basement.
Everyone can meet at Sports Basement at 6:30pm to get in a carpool and head to Pantoll Station from there. It's gorgeous and surprising how many stars you can see being so close to the city.
